Northmarque
In short:
- The gutters referred to are the patio roof gutters, which are exclusive use common property. This makes them owners’ responsibility.
- The tree is not in the Northmarque scheme, it is in a neighbouring property but hanging over.
- Owners should not trim trees without first discussing with the committee, including those in exclusive use common property.
The Chair said this falls outside the body corporate’s scope as it involves a neighbour’s tree, and suggested Eva speak directly with the neighbour. The Treasurer offered to have an offline conversation with Eva about council rules around tree responsibility, which vary by local government area.
Before trimming or pruning any trees or vegetation, owners must check in with the committee for advice by emailing community@northmarque.net.
This is mainly because the trees within Northmarque are subject to vegetation overlays applied by Brisbane City Council and there are strict conditions around tree trimming as a result.
